The John Wayne Cabin at Angel Valley Ranch

What a perfect place in a beautiful setting. We could not have asked for a better place to rest our head after a full day of trail hiking in Zion National Park. The view from the cabin is breathtaking. Unobstructed and peaceful. The home was well equipped and we didn't miss out on any amenities. You will need a car that handles quite bumpy dirt/muddy terrain leading up to the home. The drive is without much protection from the huge dropoff as you approach the winding scale up to the cabin. About a 30 minute drive big enough for one car so managing oncoming traffic (minimal) is a challenge. Worth it as you drive up to this amazing home with views for days.

Great cabin for relaxing off the grid

Warm, dry, and clean cabin with a responsive host (at least as responsive as they could be given limited cell coverage in the area). The cabin is beautiful but more rustic than we were expecting. We thought the cabin was isolated as the photos show but there are 4 or 5 other structures in a circle with no way to know which it is, as it looks smaller than in the picture and the outside has weathered. We tried to call but there isn't cell coverage for half an hour off the main road - its pretty spotty in Duck Creek overall. We were never told it was the Cabin that is labeled with a sign "Goodwin's" - that would have been helpful! Especially as it was getting darker on a bumpy dirt road. We ended up driving past it on an even rougher road until we got to the yurt and turned back. The fridge needs to be updated as it constantly turns off and never cooled down, we had to keep our food in the ice chest. No TV, no microwave, no fire pit, chairs & porch need updating. Heater worked well.

Off Grid Experience in Paradise! This is exactly as it says. Great accommodations. Might bring you a chair for lounging. This is energy efficient so don’t bring anything to plug in in the kitchen there are no plugs yet they provide plenty of what you might need. We loved this place! We got to see change of leaves and enjoy cool mornings and warm days 😃🇺🇸

The cabin is perfect for a peaceful getaway !! If need to relax and get off grid , it’s perfect !! It was a great place for me and husband and dogs to relax and hike !! Loved the cool breeze and seeing all the wildlife in the mornings !! My dogs loved running freely and sleeping on the porch !! Highly recommend!!

I came up from LA for a week at Zion National Park. After a couple of days, I was over the heat and really wanted to get up to high elevation and into cooler weather. McKays cabin was perfect, it was ways away from all the tourists areas and surrounded by incredible trails, creeks, lakes, and wildlife. I enjoyed every second of the cabin and really appreciated how thoughtful the host was with A fully equipped kitchen and cabin. I would totally recommend this cabin, 10/10. I will definitely be coming back.

We loved the cabin in the middle of no where, it was peaceful and a great stay. The cabin was clean and had all the supplies we needed to cook and bbq. We look forward to staying at the cabin in the future again!

McKay is a very responsive host who truly cares about your experience. We had some hiccups on our stay, but McKay was very responsive and did everything he could. the property is beautiful, and with a few fixes, I think it can be a very relaxing getaway.

We had a great stay at McKay’s yurt. The cabin we initially booked needed maintenance due to excessive runoff, but the yurt definitely met our expectations for our peaceful weekend getaway. If you are looking for a private, secluded space, this property is amazing.
